  	His brothers lost track of him after he worked on this ranch. He was blind in one eye due to a childhood accident and also walked with a limp.

  	In the Saskatchewan homestead files it shows a Alfred James applied for a homestead on NW-16-2-15-W3 and SW both a 1/4 section 9 miles southwest of Val Marie. He received the patent May 1916. In 1915 he was 28 and single. Reginald and Charles both applied for a 1/4 section south of their bother Alfred and a 1/4 setion east but both cancelled their applications in 1914. Later in 1914 Reginald applied for another 1/4 section and received the patent (Title) in 1920. In 1919 he says he had a wife and a son and he was 29. Reginald and Charlie eventually moved to BC but they lost touch with Alfred. He may have moved to the Peace River. May have married and had children we have no idea. He may have worked for a Mr Gurney in Shaunvon.
